South Plains Public Health District
South Plains Public Health District was formed in 1941 to address the public health needs of our participating counties. The Health District is funded by participating cities, counties and federal and state grants. We are a four county health district consisting of Gaines, Yoakum, Terry and Dawson Counties.
Mission Statement
The South Plains Public Health District, a non-profit governmental agency in cooperation with the city and county governments of Gaines, Terry, Dawson and Yoakum, strives to prevent illness and environmental hazards, promote the health and preparedness of our citizens and protect the community through education and response.
